On Monday, April 15th, the Auburn-Washburn Board of Education met to approve the colors and mascot for what has been referred to as “Middle School 2.” After a unanimous vote, the results are as follows:

Colors: Carolina Blue and Black

Mascot: Ravens

The board was expected to choose a new name for the middle school, but they did not. “The name still stumps me a little bit as to what direction we should go,” board member Jeremy Wiltz said. “It’s a really important decision that we don’t want to rush.“ The board decided to defer the decision until their next meeting on May 6th.

Dr. Stoltenberg, the current head principal of WRMS, is very honored and excited to transition from being head principal at WRMS to head principal at Middle School 2. “It is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity…This is a very unique and exciting time, and I count myself lucky to be a part of it.”
