Should there be more passing time? Students think that there should be more passing time because there is not enough time to go to the bathroom, there’s always people crowded in the bathroom and teachers always ask why students don’t go to the bathroom or get a drink during passing time but there is no time to because everyone is in there. Then if they go to the bathroom during passing time they won’t have enough time to get to their next class why is that.
Seventh grader Addy Gale said, “There should definitely be more passing time, it should be at least six minutes because there’s not enough time to go to the bathroom and also get to your next class”. She also said, “There’s always people crowded in the bathroom with their friends. There should be more passing time to use the restroom and get to your next class on time.”
We mentioned to Seventh Grader Olivia Guccione if the school day would be longer with more passing time and she said, “No, you could just shorten the classes by a couple minutes and just add more passing time. The classes could be shortened by five minutes so classes would only be thirty-five to forty minutes which is still enough time.” Students already learn a lot in their class periods already so why not just make the classes shorter so students can have more passing time.
Some students can’t even make it to their classes on time with construction going on. Also, seventh and eighth graders have to go around the whole school just to get to their next class in only four minutes. That’s why peers are complaining that passing time is way too short to get to their next class because of all the construction going on. Four minutes is not enough time to get around the whole school, even seventh graders are struggling with this because they have essential classes all the way on the other side of the school. Seventh graders are rushing to get to their next class on time.
Eighth grader Ellouise Francis said, “There should definitely be more passing time because people can go to the bathroom and get stuff out of their lockers for their next class. Yes, people use passing time appropriately by going to their lockers and going to their next classes.” Some peers don’t have enough time to get things out of their lockers, go to the bathroom, and then get to their next class on time.
Students think there should be more passing time because they don’t have enough time to go to the bathroom and get to their next class on time due to not enough time and due to the construction going on around the school. So do you think there should be more passing time?
