Next year, for some 7th grade students is going to be really stressful as they are going to the new middle school that has been under construction which will cut the WRMS population down by 76.8%! We asked a few people how they felt about it as well as a few other questions.
Students from Farley, Indian Hills, Wanamaker, are all moving to WRNMS.
7th grade counselor Mrs.Schrader said “It’s a lot of change and change can be stressful on some, and the students who struggle to make friends… you could take their current friends away and they would have to make new on
7th grade eclipse student Myanna Barksdale gave us her opinion on moving. She said “ I’m kinda nervous but kinda excited because I will be one of the first ones there,” . Although being an exciting transition It is a common theme around the school that kids are nervous about the move as they can lose previous relationships with friends and teachers, but also provides new opportunities and friendships.
Sebastian Hernandez shared his ideas on how school transportation will work, he said “I think they will have to get more buses because of 6th grade,” with moving to the new middle school the buses will be spread really thin.
Eclipse student, Jentry Mader said “I feel really excited about going because we will be the first 8th grade class there,” with them being the first 8th graders they have to set the standard of what to do for the future 8th, 7th, and 6th graders to come.
