Lots of new trends have come into 2024 and are now going into 2025 for the new year. WRMS students were surveyed, and the results are in. Here are the most popular trends of 2024!
UGG Tasmans are a type of slipper with a lining of plush wool on the inside. UGG Ultra Minis are boots that stop below the ankle made of sheepskin and wool on the inside. UGGs have been popular before in the 2000s and have now come back for 2024. 7th grader, Ashlynn Choonchaeroen believes they got popular because of social media, “They’re all over tiktok” she said. Lots of new styles have come in including the most popular UGG Tasmans and UGG mini boots. 72.8% of students from WRMS who answered the survey have preferred UGG Tasmans over the mini boots.
Nike and Underarmour are both athletic brands that sell footwear, apparel, sports equipment, etc. The two brands are often competing against each other, but Nike wins the competition at WRMS. 90.1% of students who answered the survey have said to prefer Nike over Under Armour. 7th grader, Tyler Woerner, said, “I think it’s a more appreciated brand and more famous than Under Armour”.
Crocs are rubber shoes with holes that you can decorate with their jibbitz. They come in many different styles. Hey Dudes shoes are lightweight comfortable shoes, but 8th grader Joe Diaz thinks otherwise. “On Hey Dudes, it doesn’t feel as much comfortable as Crocs, the bottom is really hard and on Crocs you feel like you’re at home,” said Diaz. 77% WRMS students who took the survey prefer Crocs over Hey Dudes.
Lululemon is a brand that sells yoga and exercise apparel. Lululemon is most famous for their high quality leggings. Aerie is a brand that sells lounge wear and active wear and is also most famous for their soft and high quality leggings. 73.1% of students from WRMS who did the survey chose Lululemon over Aerie.
White Fox and Essentials Hoodies are hot items you will find on Tik Tok. Essentials will keep you warm with their high-quality hoodies. The aesthetic of the Essentials Brand is minimalistic, with clean designs, and neutral colors that appeal to all demographics. White Fox sets are known as the new Juicy Couture sets. They are similar, but White Fox is meant to be oversized instead of tight. The craze for White Fox began on social media, with influencers posting about it. 72.8% of WRMS students who completed the survey chose White Fox Hoodies over Essentials Hoodies.
Pacsun and American Eagle are both trendy clothing brands. Pacsun was very popular in the 2010’s, and has become as popular in the 2020’s. They are both widely known for their comfortable jeans American Eagle Jeans are more high end, and Pacsun jeans are more affordable. Pacsun also has unique t-shirt designs 82.6% of students who took the survey chose American Eagle, instead of Pacsun.
Stanleys are tumblers made out of stainless steel that come in many different colors and designs. They have straws that come out of the top that you can put a straw cover on. Owalas are water bottles also made of stainless steel that do come in many different colors, but they have different colors on each water bottle that complement each other. 59% of students at WRMS who answered a survey prefer Owala over Stanley.
Abercrombie is a brand that sells clothes, they are most popular for their camo hoodie that everyone is wearing. Abercrombie hoodies are known to be a soft material that makes the hoodie comfier than other hoodies. Most people choose Abercrombie because they believe it is better than a lot of other hoodies. Essentials hoodies are just as popular on tiktok as the Abercrombie hoodie is. Essentials hoodies are known to be soft, high quality,comfy and especially warm. People mostly like essentials for the design and look of the hoodie but also the high quality that they give. 52.4% of students from WRMS choose Abercrombie over The Essentials hoodie.
