WRMS has been undergoing changes throughout the school year, including the bathrooms, library, hallways, and teachers’ rooms. Many of the hallways are crammed by the renovations, which can make it hard for students to get to classes. The biggest change so far would be the library, including the ceiling, taking down the whole front of the library, and changing the flooring. This will hopefully provide a better environment and space for the students and teachers at WRMS.
Mr. Dalrymple, the computer technician, said working with the construction around his office was a bit of an adjustment. “In the beginning, the noise was a bit off-putting, but after a while, you forget it is there. I have worked in construction, so I understand and appreciate the process. I love my new office, and the library will be great when everything is said and done. So it can feel like a library again.”

The WRMS changes in the hallways are making a bit of trouble for 8th and 7th graders, but many believe it will be worth it in the end. SWAT student Thomas Burgess said about the hallway renovations, “Yes, it is a bit annoying to work around, all of this construction can be disruptive and annoying for students and teachers, but in the end, it will make the school look better and feel better.”
Many of the rooms in WRMS are also being renovated for better teaching experiences. Mr. Haire, WRMS head principal, said these renovations will provide students with a high-quality learning environment. “As we renovate all spaces, it is only going to ensure, for years to come, a place we can be proud of and a place we can continue to provide all students with the highest quality education they deserve and need. Moving forward, all staff will have a facility that is 21st-century ready for students and a place that we can be proud of and call our Falcon home,” he said.
