Have you seen the new TikTok trend called Italian Brain Rot? Italian brain rot has characters that were created by AI and moved to TikTok. There are more than 50 AI generated characters that are different animals combined with objects. Some of the most popular characters are Cappuccina Ballerina, and Tung Tung Tung Tung Sahur. There have been different storylines created with the characters, and lots of different opinions about them.
Seventh grade Comets student Josephine Harris’s favorite character is Cappuccina Ballerina, “She’s very delicate, classy, she doesn’t do too much and she just minds her business” Harris said. Capuccina Ballerina is a coffee cup mixed with a ballerina. She is very popular and is mostly associated with Tung Tung Tung Sahur.
Eighth grade Champions student, Carson Spritzer sees Italian brain rot all over his FYP, “I heard it from TikTok because it’s on my fyp and it was about Italian brain rot quizzes and I would get 100% on them every single time.” Spritzer said. 8th grader, Valaree Pham, on SWAT also sees it on Tik Tok, “Like every two videos I scroll, I see Italian brain rot,” Pham said.
TikTok isn’t the only place people hear Italian brain rot. Seventh grade All Stars student, Stahlin Cottrell hears it all the time in WRMS. “I do hear it a lot but they don’t know the good ones,” Cottrell said. A few of his favorites are, Brr brr Patapim and Trippa Troppa Tralala. “The best Italian brain rot is more Indinishian because they’re just so relatable like who doesn’t like a dude who’s got a hat full of sling and a nose like a long ham. Also I like their hairy legs and Tripi Troppi tripa tropa is just so cute!” Cottrell said.
There are a lot of different unique characters with abstract looks that one wouldn’t expect. Eighth grade Champions student Floyd Gallegos also enjoys the characters, “My favorite is Chimpanzini Bananini, because I like chimpanzees,” Gallegos said.
Italian brain rot is just one of the many things trending right now. From people seeing it online to people using it at school. Although Italian brain rot is just AI generated characters, almost everyone has heard or seen it at least once.
