The worldwide festive season presents an opportunity to make memories filled with “joy and laughter” as the moments we share with our loved ones inside and out of the house. What better way to celebrate the spirit of the season than to spend an evening watching some classic Christmas movies. Here’s a list of some unforgettable movies but also conveys some important, if not life-changing, messages that resonate down through the ages.

The Nightmare Before Christmas is a 1993 animated film about Jack Skellington’s frustration with Halloween, so he decides to go through a magical door that leads to a place called Christmas Town, and he decides to make Christmas his.
4: National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation
This 1989 classic is about the Griswold family preparing for Christmas and through wacky and funny antics they have a huge tree and a boss in their house. Watch it to find out more, it is great and we recommend it.
3: ELF
Elf was a movie released in 2003 about a baby crawling into Santa’s present sack, and traveling to the North Pole, then he gets raised by the elves, and after that, he gets told that he’s not an elf like the rest of them, so he travels back to New York City to find his dad, and he finds out that his dad doesn’t even know he exists.
2: Home Alone
Home Alone is a movie that was made in 1990, the movie is about a kid named Kevin McCalister, and his family leaves him home alone whilst his family is out on a Christmas vacation, but some people try to rob him, so he plays elaborate pranks on them, until his family gets back home.
1: The Grinch
The Grinch * live-action* is a 2000 Christmas movie about the character the Grinch and how he is lonely in his cave and hates people and Christmas until he is invited down to the town to do things with the people there and eventually, someone tries to embarrass him in front of everyone in town so he shaves the mayors head and goes home to plot to steal their Christmas. 8th Grader Juliana Hermanson said “My Favorite Christmas movie is How the Grinch Stole Christmas, because it was a movie I grew up watching. My favorite scene is when his heart grew”
The Grinch is a 2018 movie where the Grinch is less known around town and hates Christmas, so he plots to ruin it with fancy gadgets and his dog until he spies on a little girl in town. His heart grows 3 sizes and decides to return the gift and gadgets.
As an honorable mention, 8th grade HEAT teacher Ms. Hundley said, “My favorite Christmas movie is Disney’s “A Christmas Carol” (the animated one with Jim Carrey) It is my favorite because it’s kind of spooky and I’ve always loved the story “A Christmas Carol.” My favorite scene is the one with the ghost of Christmas present I like it because he’s such a jolly character but then turns serious when explaining to Scrooge how his greed is a bad thing”
